Every Indian resident with income above ₹2.5 lakh must file an annual Income Tax Return. Most salaried employees file ITR-1 (Sahaj).

📋 What You Need
  • PAN card number
  • Aadhaar number (linked to PAN)
  • Form 16
  • Bank account IFSC code

Register on e-Filing portal

Go to incometax.gov.in. Register with PAN.

Choose ITR-1

For salaried employees with income up to ₹50 lakh.

File using pre-filled data

AIS/TIS pre-fills employer TDS, salary, and interest.

Enter deductions

Section 80C (₹1.5 lakh), 80D, 24(b), 80TTA.

Submit and e-verify
